Skin Rash Rescue for Dry and Sensitive Skin

People who suffer from very dry skin can be experiencing a potentially dangerous skin problem. For this reason it is important to establish a good skin care plan to keep a relatively common occurrence from becoming a full blown crisis. The first step is to establish your cleansing routine.

Dry and sensitive skin are very treatable conditions, and the appropriate cleansing routine can help keep them under control. Firstly, you should use a cream cleanser that is both alcohol and fragrance free. This way your skin will not dry out from washing nor will it get irritated due to unnecessary scents and fillers.

Next, find an alcohol free toner to help remove any excess oil, debris, or make that the cleanser did not eliminate. Follow up with the appropriate moisturizer for your type of skin. If you need to reapply moisturizer during the day, do not hesitate to do it.

If you notice that your skin is still dry, irritated, or has developed a rash, you might need to make a few changes in your daily routine. In fact, a complete skin rash rescue plan must include some routine changes.

You should keep an eye on your alcohol, caffeine, and soda intake. All of these drinks will dehydrate your skin and make it promote to itchiness and possible rashes. By giving them up you will also be improving your overall health.

Also control the amount of refined sugar or salt that you intake. If you don't think things will taste right without salt then there are a few flavor enhancers you can use to help you eliminate salt: pepper, ginger, and lemon juice. Substitute sugar for honey or another natural sweetener.

During the winter, bundle up to keep the wind from drying out your skin. Stay away from open flames and use a humidifier to counteract the dryness caused by central heating. Don't forget to also include a sensitive skin balm to help moisturize and soothe extra dry skin.

During summer you should be careful not to get obsessed with spending too much time in the water. The chlorine from the pool and the salt from the ocean are both dehydrating agents. If you do decide to go into the water, make sure that once you've gotten out you rinse your skin off with fresh water.

Make sure that you maintain a consistent exfoliation routine during summer and winter. This action will help you remove dead skin cells from the skin and prepare it to be moisturized.

Lastly, change your wardrobe. Don't throw all of your clothes away. Instead, replace the itchier clothing for softer versions.

For example wool can be replaced with cashmere garments. Polyester and polyblends can be replaced with high quality cotton.
